LOWERING YOUR TAXES

Dear friends,

As you make your 2005 tax plan, please make good use of the income tax charitable deduction. A 2005 gift to the Jesse Stuart Foundation, a non-profit organization that is tax exempt, can significantly reduce your income taxes, and provide much needed support for the Jesse Stuart Foundation.

If you itemize, you can almost always lower income taxes through charitable giving. Here’s a few suggestions:

  • CASH - Simply write us a check by December 31, 2005. There is no easier way to earn a deduction. Make sure your envelope is postmarked by December 31, and your gift will apply to your 2005 taxes. Gifts of cash are fully deductible–up to a maximum of 50% of your adjusted gross income.
  • STOCK - Gifts of stocks are almost always more tax-wise than cash gifts.
  • REAL ESTATE -

The Jesse Stuart Foundation is fortunate to have an excellent investment counselor, Leif Clarke, who has handled our funds for many years. Leif would be pleased to provide you, your attorney or your accountant with additional information or assistance. Leif’s telephone number in Ashland, Kentucky is (606) 325-0055. If you seek his counsel, I am confident that he can help you devise a plan that will be of assistance to both you and the Jesse Stuart Foundation.
