JSF board award named for Judy B. Thomas, presented to Lemings
ASHLAND, Ky. (Dec. 15, 2002) -- Eighteen years of dedicated service to the Jesse Stuart Foundation, including 17 years as board chair, have been recognized with the naming of the Judy B. Thomas Outstanding Board Member Award.
 Thomas, retired president of the Ashland, Inc., Foundation, served from 1984 to 2001 as chair of the JSF Board of Directors. She remains a member of the Board's Executive Committee and chair of the Development Committee.
"The success of the Jesse Stuart Foundation is due in large part to the devoted leadership of Judy B. Thomas who had a dream and was tireless in pursuing the human and fiscal resources necessary to bring that dream to reality," said JSF Board Chair Keith Kappes. "We will be forever in her debt."
The JSF directors voted to present the first Thomas Award to Carl and Buzzy Leming of Edgewood, who earlier this year announced a $50,000 challenge gift to the Foundation's building fund.
